Tagging

Adding tags to pages and assets is an important step in making them easy to find in Search, Calendars and Lists. Tagging also allows dynamic components to reference only specifically-tagged content for displaying content relevant to individual subjects.

Note: Authors have read-only access and apply existing tags to documents, pages, content fragments, etc.  However, tag creation, modification and deletion can only be completed by agency or platform administrators.

Adding Tags to a Page & Assets

To add a tag to a page, navigate to the page Properties and select the Tags field .

To add a tag to an asset, navigate to the asset's Properties and select the Tag field.

You can then navigate to your specific agency's tag folder and select the tag you are looking for.

You will see that tags are organized by use type (this is called a Namespace). For events you will want to use the Events tags and for news items you will want to use the News Tags.

Audience tags are used to filter pages and assets by the "I am a..." filters in search. Content Category tags are used to filter pages and assets by the "I am interested in..." filters in Search.

Potential Tag Issues

If a published tag is moved without first being unpublished, a ghost tag is created.

To prevent ghost tags, unpublish the tag prior to moving. Move the tag to the right location and republish.

To fix an existing ghost tag, recreate a tag with the same name in the same location as the ghost tag. Publish the new tag, then unpublish and delete.
