Content Fragments

Content Fragments serve as the data storage model for different types of content "types."  This allows page authors to manage data at a single location while displaying the content in different ways across multiple platforms. Content fragment data is located in the DAM with Assets.

*Remember: In AEM, no matter the object, (Pages, Assets, Content Fragments, Forms, etc) NEVER just delete something. ALWAYS Unpublish the item first, then Delete!

Here are some common ways you can use Content Fragments:

Content Fragment Templates

Content templates provide a front-end display for different types of content fragments.  Currently, we have content templates for the following types: agency, service, executive order, proclamation, and FAQ.

To learn how to set up these templates, use the links below:

Content Fragment List

You can build lists of Content Fragments.  This can be helpful if you want to build a customized list of Services for example.

Open Content Fragment Display

Open Content Fragment Display gives authors the ability to load dynamic content on the page with all the information coming from the content fragment. Using dynamic pages, authors will not have to create multiple pages manually and a single dynamic page can be used to display information coming from content fragments to the end user.

Build Custom Content Fragment Models

In addition to leveraging the standard Content Fragments already set up in AEM, site administrators will also soon have the ability to create their own Content Fragment Models for use throughout their agency's website.

Dynamic Related List and Table

You can set the Dynamic Related List component to render a list of Content Fragments that share a tag property value with a different Content Fragment.
