News Article Template

Description

The News Article Template can be used for creating news articles, press releases, and any other news-related pages.

Authoring

Every site should have a section specifically for storing all the news article pages for easy sorting and searching. The path should resemble something like /content/soi/[Your agency's acronym]/en/news.

Once you have selected to create a new page under the newsroom path, using the News Article Template, you will need to fill out some required information about the news article before the page can be created. In the Article tab, you can:

  • Select a news type tag for the article category field. You need to navigate to /State of Illinois/ILGAgency/[Your agency's acronym]/News Type, which is a tags folder storing all your agencies' news type tags.
  • Select an agency tag for the agency field. You need to navigate to /State of Illinois/ILGAgency and find your agency's acronym.
  • Select a content category tag for the state level category field. You need to navigate to /State of Illinois/Content Category, which is a tags folder containing all the relevant content based tags.
  • Select an image, which will be displayed on the page.
  • Select a thumbnail, which will be displayed on any news feed.
  • Enter a summary for the news content.
  • Enter the article date.

Once the page is created you will see the page has the following components by default:
