News Feed

News Feed is a component that displays a collection of articles from witin AEM or an IIS feed for easy viewing.

Authoring

The News Feed component is a great way to show recent articles on a home page or landing page.

Configuring the Properties tab

  • Display Mode: Configure a Press Release or News Feed of a collection of news articles within AEM.
    • For Press Releases:
      • Configure the Agencies and Categories filters.
      • Optionally, set a date range.
      • Enter the dynamic page path for the dynamic press release display page.
    • For News Feed: 
      • Newsroom Page Path: Enter the root path to the News Article templated pages. 
      • News Type: Select the News Type tag to filter by. 
        • An agency's news-specific tags are located at: State of Illinois > ILGAgency > [Your agency's acronym] > News Type, which is a tags folder storing all your agencies' news type tags.
  • Number of Items: Configure the number of news articles you want to display.
  • View More Link: Enter the link of the page users will go to when clicked.
  • View More Title: Enter the text to display as the label for the "View More" button.
  • No Data Text: Enter a message to display for when no data is found.

Configuring the Styles

Once you have the News Feed on your page, you can click the style icon to select from a variety of styling options:  

News Feed Style Options:

  • Default (With Thumbnails) displays the news feed with a thumbnail, Title, Category, Description, and Date
  •  Without Thumbnail: displays the news feed like the default, only without a thumbnail. 
  • Title Only Dark Text: a streamlined feed of news showing only Title and Date
  • Title Only White Text: streamlined to show only Title and Date, and designed to place on a Dark Background Color. 

Division Style Options:

  • Separator Between Items: places a single line to separate items in the feed
  • Zebra Striped Items: places each item in the feed in an alternating color container. (Please note that zebra striped styling should not be used in combination with the "White Text" option.)
