Sharing is Caring
In today's digital age, social media is a powerful tool for businesses of all sizes. By making it easy for visitors to share your website content on social media, you can reach a wider audience and drive more traffic to your site.
There are many benefits to using a share widget on your website. Here are a few of the most important:
- Increased traffic: When visitors share your content on social media, it exposes your brand to a new audience. This can lead to increased traffic to your website, which can boost your sales, leads, and customer base.
- Enhanced SEO: Social media sharing can also help improve your website's search engine ranking. Google and other search engines take into account the number of times your content is shared on social media when ranking your site in search results.
- Brand awareness: When people share your content on social media, they're essentially giving your brand a free endorsement. This can help to increase brand awareness and improve your reputation among potential customers.
- Word-of-mouth marketing: Social media sharing is a great way to generate word-of-mouth marketing. When people share your content, they're essentially telling their friends and followers about it. This can lead to even more people seeing your content and visiting your website.
DoIT and our Web Content Management Platform make presenting a "Share" widget on your website a painless process. In fact there is only one thing you need to do, submit a IT Service Request. The widget is already available for every website within our Enterprise Platform, we just have to enable it for the URLs which want to leverage it.
Wondering what the widget will look like? Look to your left, we have it here on the WCM Author Guide website as an example. Although it can be placed in a variety of locations on your layout, top/bottom/left/right. We can style it to look like seperate button or a ribbon as it is here. We can also remove icons if you don't want print/email. Here is a brief writeup of the component we are leveraging

We can turn the widget on for your entire site or just a subsection of your site. So if you think that the whole site is too much and you just want it on say your "Parks" and "News" sections, then in your request give us the base paths of those pages and we'll enable it for those locations.
Once we recieve the request it takes minutes to fulfill it since all the code is already in place and ready to go. So what are you waiting for?
