Remove Extended Properties of Files
Asset files include extra information in their extended properties. This information could potentially include personal or identifiable data. To safeguard against any potential backlash, this extra information needs to be removed from all asset files prior to uploading into AEM.
Steps to Remove Extended Properties
- Open file explorer
- Go to the folder where you store the file you want to remove the extra file property details from.
- Right-click the file and select Properties from the context menu.
- In the Properties dialog, go to the Details tab.
- At the bottom of the property list, click on the link Remove Properties and Personal Information.
- In the Remove Properties dialog, you will see 2 options
- Create a copy with all possible properties removed - this will create a new copy of the current file without the properties you select. The original file will remain unchanged.
- Remove the following properties from this file - this will remove all the properties you select from the source file permanently.
- Select the desired action
- Select the properties you want to remove (Tip: There is a button "Select All" to quickly check them all.
- Click OK.
Now the file is ready. Upload the file to your assets in AEM.
