How to Promote New Web Content

This is a brief overview of how to quickly promote new content on your agency's website. We use a basic scenario below and explore options that authors can take.

Scenario

A new page has been created with important health guidelines that people need to easily find. The page is several levels deep into the site, for organizational purposes, and it is not easy to find.

Options for promotion

What's easiest to do?

Create a teaser on the homepage to direct people to the new page.

What if people get to our website but don’t arrive on the homepage? Or, what if we don’t have a good position on the homepage to place a teaser?

Create an alert that displays on all pages of the site that directs people to the new page.

Create a modal that pops up when a user lands first lands on the site (any page) that directs people to the new page.

What if I want to do more?

Create an experience fragment (XF) that holds a teaser. Place that XF in strategic places throughout the site. Update the XF when you want to promote something different in the future.

What can I do outside of AEM?

Promote the content through social media, email newsletters, or digital advertisements.
