Page Properties

Page properties are elements of your site that include Page Title, Page Description, Tags, Redirection, Page Thumbnail and more.  Some of these properties are commonly referred to as "metadata."

The exact properties that are available may depend upon what Page Template you are using.

Accessing Page Properties

There are two ways to access Page Properties:

1. Through the Site navigation interface.

To access through the AEM Site Navigation screen, hard select a page and click on "Properties".

2. Directly from the AEM Author Screen.

Click on the Page Information dropdown and select "Open Properties."

Basic Page Properties

Some basic page properties include:

  • Title
  • Tags
  • Hide in Navigation
  • Hide in Search

Further down are some options that are specifically available for SEO purposes, and override any other Title or Description entries.:

  • Page Title
  • Description

Advanced Page Properties

The most commonly used Advanced Page Property is probably "Redirect".  This can be useful when a short URL name is used to redirect to a much longer, and more cumbersome URL path.

For example, this function could be used to redirect https://www.illinois.gov/ems to https://www.illinois.gov/services/service.ems-licensing.html
