Form Components

Component Container

On any editable form, you will see a root container with the words "Drag components here- Root Panel" in which you can add various components to populate the form. Note: make sure the form is in Edit mode. Components can be added to a form in the same way you add components to pages.

Component Toolbar

Once a component has been added, you can single-click on the component to see the toolbar options.

  1. Edit (pencil icon) - Edit the title of the component
  2. Configure (wrench icon) - Component properties become visible in the sidebar. You can specify behavior of the component and manage user input. Properties for adaptive form container let you specify Client libraries, Layouts, Themes, Document of Record settings, save settings, submission settings, and metadata settings.
  3. Edit Rules (gavel & block icon) - Opens the Rule Editor.
  4. Copy (copy icon) - For copying the selected component.
  5. Cut (scissors icon) - For copying the selected component then after pasting component elsewhere the original is removed.
  6. Delete (recycle bin icon) - For deleting the selected component.
  7. Insert (plus icon) - Lets you insert a component above the selected component.
  8. Paste (clipboard icon) - For pasting copied component.
  9. Group (group icon) - For selecting a group of components so you can copy, cut, or delete them all at once.
  10. Parent (table icon) - For selecting the parent component of the selected component. For example, a button lies within a section, the section is in the root panel, and the root panel resides in the adaptive form container. For a component, you can see all the options with the hierarchy sorted bottoms-up.
  11. View SOM Expression (SOM expression icon) - Lets you view the SOM Expression of the selected component.
  12. Group Objects in Panel (grouping icon) - Lets you select multiple components to group into a panel.
  13.  Replace (crossed arrows icon) - Lets you replace the selected component with a new component of your choosing.

Reference the table below for all of the components available for use in a form along with the functionality of each. Each component has associated properties that control its appearance and functionality, and some of the components will have properties that are unique to them.
