Agency Footer

Description

Footer is a component that appears at the bottom of any page, above the Global Footer. The Footer houses useful links pertaining to the agency/site and links to agency social media.

Authoring

The Footer can only be edited from the website home page. Changes made to it will be automatically inherited by all the child pages.

Configuring the Properties tab

  • Enable translate if you wish the translation options to show up as part of the Footer.
  • Enable maps if you wish to use maps across the site.
  • Enable chatbot if you wish to enable it across the site.

Configuring the Link Column tab

  • Feature important links using this tab.

Configuring the Social Links tab

To boost your social media presence, you can make your accounts visible on the Footer. We have a pre-set option available for popular platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Spotify, Threads, TikTok, Twitter (X), YouTube, and Eventbrite. Additionally, you can add a custom icon to link to a social media platform not in the pre-set options. It can also be used to promote any website that's relevant to your agency.

Social Links Tab

  • Social Media Links: Select the social media icon to be displayed
  • URL: Web address to the social media page
  • Title: Add a title to provide more context for the people using assistive technology
  • Customer Path: Select the path for the website or social media platform you want to promote on the footer.

Configuring the Maps tab

  • Add your Maps API Key to use map components on your site (Ex. Location Finder, Events, Maps). Contact DoIT if you need assistance setting up an API Key.

Configuring the Chatbot Setup tab

As of February 2024, there are 2 chatbot types with some differing options. Users are currently utilizing the Classic DialogFlow (ES) chatbot, but added options exist for the new Generative AI (DialogFlow CX) chatbot.

  • Chatbot Type: Select Classic DialogFlow or DialogFlow CX: 
  • (CX) Chatbot Project ID: Google Cloud Project ID for the chatbot.
  • (Classic/CX) Chatbot Agent ID: Agent ID for the chatbot. This is pulled in from the Google DialogFlow environment.
  • (CX) Check to collect response feedback from user: Allows end-users to rate (thumbs up/down) and submit  comments on this chatbot's responses.
  • (Classic/CX) Chatbot Title: Title the chatbot for your website.
  • (Classic/CX) Chatbot Welcome Message: Introductory welcome statement that may be specified for the end-user to see when initially interacting with the chatbot.
  • (Classic/CX) Hours to Hold the Cookie for a Closed Chatbot: The chatbot will retain it's history for a site visitor if the site visiter returns within the Author-specified amount of hours.
  • (Classic) Show Flags for language options: Flag Images will display instead of text for each supported language added to the chatbot.
  • (Classic) Add: Allows the Author to specify each, if any, additional language options that exist for this chatbot.
  • (CX) Placeholder Text: Specifies the placeholder text in the user text input field of the chatbot.
     

Note that the Footer's background color is determined by theme. To change from one theme to another, you can go to the your website's home page properties. Under the Illinois tab is an option to switch the entire site's theme.
